In early July, a peaceful Black Lives Matter-organized protest was coming to an end when shots resonated in Dallas. Chaos ensued and by night’s end, nine Dallas police officers were hurt and five lost their lives.
Within days, Dallas business owners and community leaders came together to raise funds for the police officers and their loved ones. Dos Jefes, a local bistro, hosted “Dine for Dallas Blue” and all of the funds raised by the dinner and silent auction they hosted were given to the fallen and injured officers and their loved ones.
General Manager Tony Polendo of Calvlery Service Experts was more than honored to join the cause.
“I was out for my birthday dinner only blocks away from the horror that occurred that evening,” Polendo remembered. “That night struck home with me. As a military veteran, I have the utmost respect for anyone who wears a uniform in an attempt to protect and serve our community.”
“When my colleague contacted me to see if we would support this charity event by merely attending, I wanted to show our support to not only attend, but give our time and effort as well.”
Tony and the Calverley Service Experts team coordinated with Lennox to auction off a new HVAC system with installation included at the Dine for Dallas Blue event. Check out the pictures below of the installation.
“I am both thankful and appreciative for the possibility to have participated in such a incredible event,” Polendo said.
