Winter update :-) Puspa came out with his boss to install a new canister on my steam humidifier (which is in a crawl space under the house). He brought his boss because he hadn’t maintained this kind of device before and he was learning how. Always impressive. Someone else might have just tried their best with a possible failure. I appreciate the care Puspa, Sam, his boss, and all the techs that have come out from Knochellman over the years. Fall update: Puspa came out again. Very patient, very thorough. He said something that no one at Knochelmann had said in the 10 years I’ve had the system: shut down the system while mowing. This prevents the compressor from sucking up grass clippings and clogging the fins. He said the system had to work harder to overcome that clog. Made perfect sense, and it was good of him to tell me. Had spring maintenance done. Puspa was careful of my property, having to use an extension ladder for attic access, he made sure the ladder was positioned such that the interior drywall was protected. In the past, I’ve provided a 6 ft ladder that they’ve had difficulty using (there being 8 ft ceilings). Puspa provided his own (or Knochelmann’s?) extension ladder which worked much better. That should be standard equipment in all the service trucks. Care was taken with preserving thermostat settings as well. Earlier review: Just had Teance Godfrey out for fall maintenance and determined thermostat needed to be replaced. There were some delays getting the right part (at one point, he was provided with a faulty replacement(!)), but Teance was always pleasant, patient, and knew his stuff. He made sure everything was fine by the book, and was health-safety conscious. Earlier review: Five years into ownership of Lennox Signature system, had the first serious problem. Thermostat indicated air handler motor blower problem and shut the system down. Called Knochelmann and tech Michael Carter came out that day. Turned out I needed a new blower motor. He came out three days later to install. Very hot day, attic installation. It was rough for him, but he did a very good job. Made sure blower fan was balanced and air handler was securely closed. It seems quieter now (not that it was loud before). He indicated that especially with an attic installation, he’d recommend a Blue-Tube UV light to kill mold, etc, in the system, and in the house. I had him do that as well. I appreciated his expertise and care.
